Michael Gumm, Executive VP & Co-Founder, SunPods Inc.

Michael Gumm is a principal and co-founder of SunPods, is actively involved in SunPod technology development, business development and strategic planning, and is the Chairman of the Board. He has been actively involved in the roofing industry for the past 25 years. Over this time, he has worked in manufacturing and sales with leading building product companies and over time a licensed commercial roofing contractor in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Florida focusing on government contracting and big box installations.

Since 1996, he has been the president of Corporate Roof Consultants, involved in both commercial roofing design and forensic roof failure investigations and solar array design.

Mr. Gumm is a building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) pioneer with twelve patents and pending covering a number of solar technologies combining conventional building products with photovoltaic systems, creating new building envelope surfaces that both weatherproof and generate renewable energy from the sun.

He is the founder and inventor at SolarPower Restoration Systems Inc. and SolarSeal Technologies Inc., companies that focus on developing technologies combining photovoltaic’s with traditional building products known today as Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV). SRS an intellectual property company, licenses these technologies to both the solar and building product industries.

He is a member of RCI-Roof Consultant Institute , NRCA-National Roofing Contractor Association (NRCA), SEIA - the Solar Energy Industry Association, REEEP - The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership, ACORE - The American Council on Renewable Energy, Northern California Solar Association, a member of ASTM’s D-08 and E-44 technical committees, Solar ABC- Solar American Board for Codes and Standards and is an author, educator and speaker on solar and roofing technologies.
